Whole computer freezing up???

Hi guys,

Right so what the problem is my computer has been freezing up for the last couple of days even out of battlefield 2. its sorta freezing when it wants when im on the internet , when i am in BF2 , when im listenin to music the lot.
This makes me just push the reset button because thats the only thing i can do.
I really dont know what the problem is,
Any ideas??

My Specs
AMD 64 3400+ @ 2.41 (dunno how i got it to that)
XFX Geforce 7800Gtx 256mb
1.5 GIG of RAM

And also iv noticed it seems to be freezing when i click on something i.e when i go into Bf2 i click on video settings then it freezing which happened to me earlier.

unstability of the processor i guess ??? if it's not that it's overheating..
