    VOIP Help

Hi, I just bought a headset with a microphone and Im not sure how to make it work in BF2 Or SF.

Anyone can offer any help? Do all servers with the headset logo support it? And can i talk to anyone from my team, regardless of my status as a lone, commander, leader, member etc? And when I speak, will there be a green signal with the voice, indicating on the screen that im speaking?

Cuz I've tried speaking, but didnt see any indication on the screen like i see when others speak.

    Thanks!

Go into your BF2 folder and you'll find "BF2VoiceSetup.exe" . Use this to set up your VOIP . But also , when in a server go back to options using the "Esc" key and check it's still activated . I had serious driver problems which caused VOIP to turn off a few seconds after joining a server.

Commanders can only talk to squad leaders
Squad leaders can talk to commander and squad members
Squad members can talk to squad leader
Lone wolves have no mates so can only talk to themselves.

There's something you'd best be aware of that no one rememders to mention...

The majority of servers that list as having Battlecoms (in game VOIP) don't have it setup correctly. If you can't hear anyone else talking, it's likely the server.

Then again... lots of people seem ta be too shy ta yap.

When you transmit a green or red speaker symbol appears to the right underside of the mini map. It will change to a crossed through speaker symbol in grey if you key the mike for too long and no one will hear you.

          Hope that helps.

            hi all,
            I setup it up.

When i press the voip hotkeys to talk, a green sound icon appears over the right hand side of screen. When i talk, it turns red and there is a crack on the icon, does that mean its workin properly. Cuz I cant hear myself talk... Lol

            Thanks!

You shouldn't be able to hear yourself talk in-game.
The red speaker with the crack means that it thinks you're over boosting. If you boost the sensitivty too high or have the mic too close, it can badly distort the signel. However, I find it does that to me and everyone says I sound fine. If it's consistant, you might have a problem. Run the mic setup again.

Otherwise, you're prolly trasmiting just fine. Either the server isn't setup properly or no one is bothering to reply.

could be in the sound settings on your PC are not set up right as well you are only transmitting if you have a green symbol (for squads) or yellow symbol(for comander) if you hold down the talk button for longer than (I think it is) 10 seconds it stops the transmit
