I need to know, because early on yesterday i was 1 kill away from the Explosive badge. Then someone kills the last person, and now I cannot get many kills with C4.
Plus when ever I am quick with C4 it does not go off, or it brings the C4 back up.
No you cannot get kills that count towards your Explosive Ordinance Badge with the Anti-Tank kit.
Only C4s, Anti-Tank mines, and Claymore mines. The problem you have with the C4 is just the nature of internet play.. try waiting a second or two longer before trying to switch. You have to bring a new C4 pack into view ("reload") before you can switch to the detonator. Otherwise, you'll probably just toss another C4 pack.
exactly and after you get good at that, try learning how to car bomb (without dieing).
i havent got elite mind you, but this technique seems to be the most promising.
karkand is a terrible map for this because it has trucks not jeeps. although i do agree this is war, i want to live to fight it. so ill go ahead trying to car bomb without dieing.

I think they should make it 40 kills in a round for expert.
Why does everyone want the Expert Explosives/Expert Knife badges handed to them? They are classed as Expert for a reason.
C4 chucking is by far the easiest method of attaining explosives kills -- ever since I learned the technique I've gotten around 30 kills on Karkand (still haven't hit expert yet)
The problem is not many people know how to do this (not even sure if the C4 chucking thread describes the process) ... I'll try my best to make it clear on how to do this.
When you throw a C4, immediately try to right-click (my default for switching to detonator) -- you will not see an animation for the detonator. However, if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound that indicates you have switched to the detonator (a small beep). Just make sure that when you chuck the C4, switch to the detonator mid-throw. As soon as you hear that beep, you are ready to detonate. If you're quick enough you can detonate before the C4 hits the ground.
Sometimes you will also see what looks like you dropping a 2nd C4 when you are switching to the detonator. This is actually a graphics glitch ... so if you are fast enough to hear the beep, you can detonate right away without blowing yourself up (and losing a 2nd c4).
Do this on a map like Karkand with tons of alleys and clustered troops -- you can easily achieve veteran in no time at all.
