Do you consider this stats padding?

First I will say that I am dealing with this issue in my gaming community as we speak. I am looking for some public opinion on this and potentionally either help me confirm what I believe or convince me I am wrong.

I will leave my opinion out of this until the discussion is going steady. I do expect this to get heated. However, I also expect everyone to be civil and try to give some point of refrence to your opinion.

    SUBJECT:

Trading accounts with a friend so that he/she can get you badges that you are unable (read: can't for one reason or another that you can't prevent) to get or points towards your rank.

    Is that stats padding?

No. It is your game and you can share the name as long as you are the owner or creator of it. Many people here will probably flame you for it but i wouldnt worry to much about that.
Since the game is yours and that nic/name is yours than you can do whatever you please with it.

As far as stat padding, that's a grey area. But what's the point of doing that? You don't get the feeling of achievement by finally getting that badge that was so elusive. I spent forever getting my basic, veteran, and expert knife badges. I could have chosen to let someone else do it or could have stat padded to get it but I didn't. Yeah, it took forever to get and my K/D ratio went to crap for a while. But I earned it.

I say get it yourself. What's the fun of letting someone else get a badge, ribbon, or medal for you?

yes/no because yes you are kind cheated but no because you arent just letting the person kill you like 23 times (for example) to get a badge and it takes you no effort.

Just be careful, whoever is using that account can take actions to get you in trouble.

Violating the BF2RS RoE can get your account wiped/banned/etc, no matter who is manning the PC at the time of the infraction.

That isn't considered stat padding...but, why on Earth would you want to do that...what a waste. The whole point to the award system is to show your acomplishments in the game...letting someone else get you a badge makes it their badge, not yours.

People share accounts so it would basically be doing the same thing.
The problem would be that you didn't earn that badge so you would have the badge but show everyone that you don't have the skill. The badge would mean nothing to you but a pretty picture.
You should just keep trying until your experience allows you to earn it yourself.
I don't want a badge that someone else earned.
                  Just my thoughts.

It isn't stat padding at all.

Yea, having someone more skillful play for you isn't a violation of anything. Except your dignity.

Its def not stat padding and as stated above its just silly to do it cause you are not achieving anything..I aint gonna stand in your way but the reason I enjoy the game so much is the challenge of getting awards and if you let someone else do it you are cheating yourself..

I find that getting the badges helps learn skills with each weapon/kit and make you a better player. So like I said you are cheating yourself of (1) accomplishing something (2) learning more skills.

Good luck with whatever u do.:) later,

Okay, now what if your handicapped? To where your eyes can't see straight and your hands shake a lot too. Pretty much the only thing you can do is commander.

Or what if you don't have much time to play each week? Or just plain sucked for one reason or another and you aren't going to get better with the amount of time you have to play the game?
