Apologies if this has already been posted.

2.3 Commander flying instead of commanding - May NOT be enforced you cannot kick or ban for a commander flying or using a vehicle...

How can a commander effectively do his job whilst flying a an aircraft or driving a vehicle.

Being a server admin day in day out you see commanders failing to command because they are doing everything but command.

Your crying out for a supply drop or a uav but the commander takes no notice as he`s driving around Karkand in a tank fighting and not commanding yet server admins can`t do anything about this?

Then they should enable the admin to demote the commander at least.

Restricting people to using certain vehicles or playing in a certain way goes against the rule concerning knife/pistol servers.

That's what mutiny is for. If a team can't all manage to hit page up then they deserve the rookie commander.

come on,not everyone bothers with voting for things like and just gets on with there game and on our servers voting is disabled as people tend to bring up kick votes and such and mutinies every other min.

Just put C4 on his vehicle and every time he doesn't respond to Artillery, or supply drop requests within a reasonable amount of time hit the red button... : )

Thats borderline, but commanding in a jet is MADNESS. And the mutiny option is crap, it fills half the screen with noobs trying to vote the current commander off just coz he got the spot.

So if some noob gets commander and them jumps in a jet how the hell is he supposed to be an effective commander!?

I am sorry but this is stupid and wrong, EA should not enforce this rule whatsoever unless us server admins have a way to instantly demote the commander of a team through an admin appllication.

maybe you can command effectively from the back of a blackhawk but tell me how you can effectively command whilst piloting a blackhawk or any other aircraft or vehicle?

your gonna get smacktard commanders knowing they have ea`s backing on this rule and just fly about without even trying to command knowing they have ea`s blessing and server admins cant touch them.

Know how often I've seen mutiny succeed? Zero. It's not an option, it never has been. I've seen a commander who did nothing but artillery his teammates (he killed NO enemies, dropped NO UAVs or supplies), and he still didn't get mutinied.

Logically, the rule makes sense: If the commander can fly and command at the same time (which they CAN'T), well, then that's fine and they shouldn't kick for it.

All that'll happen is people will change the rules: You're not getting kicked for flying as commander, you're getting kicked because you're NOT FREAKING COMMANDING! Just like AFKers get kicked for NOT PLAYING. And if you are commanding, because you're WASTING THE JET!

Ya wanna get the credit, put in the time while being effective.
That said, I don't really have a problem with a commander sitting in the back seat of a chopper as long as they're doing their job.

Personally, I think this is a stupid ruling by EA. I see usless flying commanders constantly. They are a pain in the backside and cause disruption of the server. A yahoo commander is a HUGE disadvantage for your team and it my opinion that admins have every right to kick 'em.

That said, I'm currently looking into server side scripts that auto-suicide or auto-demote commanders that pilot any air vehicle. Neither action violates the rule as stated.
Edit: After looking further into the stated rules, this script would be a violation as well. Really, really, REALLY dumb arse move on EA's part.

I was comamnder in the passenger seat of a Bomber..How is this bad..I have never got flamed so much in my life..Mutiny after mutiny...We were stomping the other team and I was just sitting in the plane getting air time but def commanding...How is that bad?

I understand that it looks like I am flying and I responded to people.."I am not flying..How could I be typing..I am passenger"..And some flamed me worse..Like come on that is just brutal..

i guess it was just a bunch of stupid peps or maybe they really wanted to fly but I was UAVing and dropping supplies and artying..How could I be doing this if I was flying? That game was very irritating..

Moral of the story:If I am your commander plz give me benifit of the doubt especially if I am answerig all your requests.
