        Re: Reformatting

        I'll keep plodding on!

        I get 4 options -
        1) Install Windows XP
        2) Install optional Windows components
        3) Perform additional tasks (setting up networks etc)
        4) Check system compatibility

When I reformatted about a year ago, I booted the disk from setup, and a list of options came up. I had to hold down the shift key, and click on a dot in the screen. This then brought the reformat options up.

              Re: Reformatting

Use a simplified setup for the format & reinstall.

Have the "to be formatted" HardDrive plugged into master position IDE chan 0 (the first)(you didnt mention SATA, r u using that instead of IDE?)

Have the CD ROM drive you wanna use in the master position on the other IDE (or SATA) channel

Change your boot order once again - this time to CDROM(1) then HARDRIVE(2)

Keep in mind this is to just simplify the set up -

Can you Verify your BIOS version?
I ask because there is an option to go straight to a boot menu on most newer BIOS versions and that might help alot.
