Reformatting

As Battlefield 2 just won't work anymore, I'm gonna reformat my harddrive again. I've backed up my files, and am now trying to boot my reovery disk at startup in order to reformat. The instructions say that when your computer is starting up, press F10, and it will boot into the disk.
I've tried this so many times now, and it just won't boot the disk, and continues to load up windows. Can any of you shed any light as to why it won't boot up?

PS. I do not have F-Lock on. Thanks

How would you feel about changing some settings in the BIOS so that your PC would always boot up from the cd-rom (disk) by default meaning that you wouldn't have to press F10 anymore?

Ok, to get to the bios you need to hit a key, its usually the delete key, whilst your computer is starting up, if its not read the first screen that comes up and look for something like "press *** to enter setup". Once on the bios look around until you find something that tells you about the boot order (in advanced setup or something). I usually have it as:

1st boot: Floppy
2nd boot: Cd-rom
3rd boot: Hard drive

Then it should work

I beleive it depends on what type/brand of computer you have to get into the BIOS. I have an HP and I had to hit F1 or F2 to get to the BIOS screen.

yeah i understand that but i find that the delete key is the most common but i did also say that if the delete key doesnt work then read the first screen and it will tell you...

No such luck, the disk is still not booting up. I set up in the boot order that you suggested, but it just carries on into windows.

Does it try to load up the disk?

IS it an original copy? (you can be honest )

Is it damaged?

Try running the disk on the desktop

Haha, yeah it's an orginal disk

No damage to it, and I can run it fine on desktop. But in nstartup, it doesn't even look like it's about to load it up.

If you have correctly changed the order of what boots first(in this case your cd drive) you should get a screen that says at the top left "press any key to boot from cd" or something like that...

Even if it is a recovery disk, should he be able to reformat? I only have a full version. The recovery disk only fixes and reinstal's core files right?

I don't get the ''press any key'' screen, or anything like it. Just noticed that when I'm setting up my boot priorities, it only detects one of my cd drives. Should it detect both?

The recovery disk that I have has a secret option where you can reformat.

It should only say one cd-rom drive but it will automatically try both.

You tried booting with it in the other cd drive?
