Help! Can a mapper do this?

Hello mappers,

I'm {AWOL}APF from the {AWOL} clan. We have many upcoming matches on Dalian plant and we would like to have a jet training night. I would very much like to play Dalian plant with 4 jets per side, so we could have a real airwar over that map and train our members.

Is this an easy enough task that someone would be so kind as to bang it out for me? I tried with the level editor but I couldn't even get Dalian to load.

Yes you're right, ideally i would like 2 more jets per team at Dalian. I figured this might be an easy mod??

But I am interested in any good maps for jet practice.. so please let me know when you finish or if you know of others.

So far I've found Operation Steelbird and Sharqi Air Show Maps but I don't like either of them very much.

This has 13MB, backup copy of server.zip included.
Just replace your original server.zip in the dalian_plant folder.
Server has to get the modded version too, and your clanmates aswell :p

What took you 15 minutes took me about 6 hours to figure out. I've gotten this far trying to do it myself: I made the "MyMod" directory, copied over Dalian from bf2 and unzipped it, set the StaticObjects.con file to read/write (instead of read-only), followed all the set-up steps in the tutorials. I was able to create two fixed bases at the airfields, spawn points, and the jets. Loaded it in-game and everything worked great!


Questions:
1. I was un-able to add commander assets buildings like the scanner building (I would like some bombing targets!). I can place the object in the level by dragging it from the bf2->objects->staticobjects->military->buildings folder, but after I save it, and re-load it, it's gone! Any ideas?

2. How do I change the name and folder name of my level?

What i did is simple: I just told the spawner of every air vehicle to spawn a new one 5 seconds after the current one is 15m away. You can fly 10 J10's and 5 F35 at the same time

For the commander tools visit our forum by clicking the banner in my sig.
We got some mapping gods like mrburns or spfreak
Plus its german so its better for us all

2. How do I change the name and folder name of my level?

Please! I need to change it from "Dalian_plant" to some other name. We don't want to upload it to our server and write over the original Dalian_plant file. (I know how easy it is to change back and forth, it's just not so easy when you have to submit everything to multiplay via clanforge).
