XP 64 or not?

Hi just wondering if any of you guys could help.

I built my pc 2 weeks ago, here is my spec

AMD 64 3200+
1gb corsair ram
Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI
XFX Geforce 7800gt
Enermax 480w psu.

Now is it worth downloading xp 64 bit or not?

Will it still work with my games and for example my anti-virus and firewall??

Anyone here using it and can give any feedback? Or anyone else?

I just reinstalled it last night, only thing i cant get to work is McAfee and my TV tuner(no x64 updates) Everything else is running great.

I dont use virus protection or firewall (my router has its own FW) but im sure there are some that work with x64 now, its up to you.

I never tried it out, i could tell you when i get home and try it, but im sure someone else will respond by that time.

That too, to uninstall any OS i just reformat, since i got my copies of XP from my school i just switch back and forth if i want, i hope they give is Vista too

just use the normal version for now, there's not any 64bit apps that you need, you'd probably be hurting yourself more w/ the incompatabilites

I run Win x64 & love it but you must do your homework on ANY & ALL devices you intend to use. Also I have a x32 box to do anything x64 cant. If you depend on x64 alone you will be frustrated, either dual boot or keep a 2nd x32 box.
