Help I NEED A GOOD GEFORCE 6600 GT DRIVER!

Ive tried the latest Nvidia official driver, 81,98, with the same result as the previous 81.95.

BF2 is extremely laggy with either 81.95, or 81,98, but NOT with 78.01.

it is very smooth with 78.01 most of the time, but i know it could be better and that the problems are driver related.

it started stuttering at the start of online matches a few weeks ago randomly, without any changes, and now simply stutters for a short period at the start of each online game.

in single player its still super smooth. however, with the 81.98 drivers the stuttering disappears but the lag comes.

so i thought maybe one of those bf2 optimized drivres would help! could somebody please suggest one? or maybe what my probs with the new one is?

Yeah bro I get the same problems as you (with my 6600), it will stutter for like 3 to 5 seconds in the begining of the round. I just deal with it.

Post the rest of your specs. I have a 6600Gt and never have stutters, and most of my settings are on high. I only have a AMD 2800+, however the 1.5 gigs of ram is a big help in not stuttering. I'm also using stock drivers. There is also Tweak guides out there, for windows, and BF2 specificly. Reading through those can help. Searching through this site, can also help.

same here, it stutter in the beginning, but get smooth after a while. it realli ****es me off when im jetting in the beginning...

yeah, if mine ONLY stuttered for 3-5 seconds i would deal with it.

however, it varies from 20 seconds to a minute, and since i know its not my hardware, id like to fix it.

can i get a suggestion for maybe that 76 or 77. something?

id really like a suggestion.

One thing I have noticed is someone of the older video drivers work better for my machines at times. Makes me leary of getting updates on video drivers if my stuff is running fine.

read the reviews of the ones who used the driver for BF2. read through all the pages and you'll be amazed! honestly, after a clean install and defrag, i consistently get over 15 FPS more (and not lower than 35 FPS)!

before installing this new one, make sure you read all the pages first and pay attention to the ones who are using this with BF2.

like i said in my earlier post, since i switched to the modded 82.65s, i had an increase of at least 15 FPS!

read the user reviews on their new one first before switching to it...

Try OMEGA drivers they support nvidia.. they still got verson 77 sometin, but it has tweaks from new versons, and still works good with older cards... on 1 of my pc's i have a pci 5500 nvidia card and it runs bf2 fine on low settings
