Fraps vs. Battlelauncher which one better

    Fraps:
Ok i have been reading and trying to Download fraps, but i can only get a 30 sec clip, which is dumb since i can't film a movie that way, but i don't want to pay for the full version of it since im cheap,:p.

    Battle launcher:
Now is this Battle Launcher a full verison where u can film for a long time or just a little clip. And does it cost money?

And finally which one is used on the big movie's like Mine and many others?

All in All i just don't want to pay? plz help

Bl is much better. Better quality, can film from diff perspectives, free and full length. Though is hard to get to work and figure out.

with battlelaucher u make a track, then it renders the demo to a video file, but with fraps, u dont get the same quality, and its a system hog, with battlelauncher it doesnt take a goos system to render high settings.

The main difference is speed... Fraps is an all-rounder, it records real-time with audio, results will greatly depend on your system.
BL is made for BF2, the capture is slower but yields much higher results at a cost of time (both setting up and filming) adding sound also costs more time as it has to be recorded separately if you choose too.
Because BL captures frames as fast or as slow it likes you can safely wake up all in game quality settings with no performance hit as you will not be relying on FPS for smoothness, unlike fraps.

        I would learn BL.
If you use fraps it will make it more difficult for you to switch to BL when you realise its power.

        Where's NeoRicen?

^^Goog points there, I would also add that, only Fraps can get you slow motion...BL is all real-time, meaning that you can't record at slower speeds.

          p.s.: I'm surprised NeoRicen still didn't show up :p

                i use both :P,

first i pop up fraps, then boot up battle launcher, and when i am watching a demo, i record.

Then i edit and render in Sony vegas 6

I'm in a very different Timezone than most of you guys and I've just been at work so I hadn't seen the topic until now.

Anyway there's not much more I can say but I can summarize.

                  Fraps:
                  Cons

                  -Costs Money
-Unless your computer is really really good then you will probably get a slow framerate and even then you will probably have to run BF2 on crap graphics.
                  Pros:
                  -Alot Quicker
                  -Captures Sounds

                  Battlelauncher
                  Cons

                  -Takes alot longer
                  -Cannot capture video with sound
                  Pros
-GUARANTEED 30 frames per second (you can actually choose what framerate) not matter what your computer specs.
                  -Any Resolution you want
-Can set all BF2 Graphics to high with 6x AA and no matter what your specs framerate will always be solid.
-Can Choose codec or use Uncompressed for best video quality.
                  -FREE

so battlelauncher is more than a 30 sec clip? its a full length program, so i can film for longer than 30 secs right, also do i need to register anything on battlelauncher?

Even if you can get it free BattleLauncher is still way better.

Just use Battlelauncher, and getting Fraps via Bittorrent is illegal.

Fraps got messed up anyway. The latest version 2.7.2 "fixes" the recording resolution. I always used half screen record at 1024x768 because of the best performance quality ratio. Now that they fixed it records half size of 1024x768 which is 512x384, whereas it used to record at 800x600 on half size mode.
For sure, the performance is better (like they say) since they fixed it but the quality stinks, and I can't film a full size 1024x768 with a good frame rate.

Take my advice and roll back to 2.6.4.
Better still, use BL for all bf2 films.
