There is a problem with your connection????

I have been having this problem for quite some time now. it used to be that i could only play a few select servers, which used to run absolutely fine on all others i got the "there is a problem with your connection". including, of course, the official servers.

Now i get this same problem on pretty much all servers but aswell as this on the select few that used to work im now getting this problem straight off or it will occur within the game in patches then i get disconnected. sometimes on loading a map it will load up then randomly it seems CTD.

    so main problems:

1."there is a problem with your connection" issue on most servers initially then getting kicked from game before being able to play

2."there is a problem with your connection" on and off in servers which used to run fine for me.

    3.CTD on load up..

i used to have the 1st problem on my old setup but have recently upgraded to:

    amd 64 3700+
    nvidia 6800gt
    2 gig ram
    asus a8n-e ultra mobo
    WD raptor 34gig

my connection runs through a wireless (belkin) router

    i have tried many fixes.
    updated PB.
ran defrag.(kinda worked 1st time but for about a day at most)

i know there are many other posts on this subject and i've tried almost everything.
i would be very greatful of some help and if you've got this far thanks for reading all this waffle

i have made this post on another forum and am just after answers its bugging me now having bought a brand new system and still suffering.

I am guesssing you are not wireless on the computer that is accessing BF2 correct?

If not I would start from the PC and work my way back to the wall. Either changing cables to known good ones, or testing the ones you have.

yeah dude, plug straight into the router and then test it. I bet that will fix up alot of your problems. You can drop 4 to 5 times your max level when going to wireless.

Ive had the same problem recently.. after about 10 min of gameplay it comes up.. i "loose connection" then have to re-connect, which would be fine if the loading and validating was fast.. but its not.. i have a good connectiog 9under 30ms most of the time) and i just dont know whats wrong...

                              Hi there!

The solution may be something rather simple or not! Recently I had been playing BF2 for almost 2months straight without any problems whatsoever. And then, all of a sudden I started receiving the "There is a problem with your connection" error message while in the middle of online multiplayer player. I had no idea why this was happening.

I tried everything to remedy the issue...and I mean everything. What worked for me was going into the "Options" menu for the game and checking out my settings (i.e. Audio, Video...). I had been playing with a customized "Video" setting. On a whim I reverted to the default setting and loaded up the game. IT WORKED!!! I cannot believe that it was something as simple as selecting the default setting for my "Video" options. I hope that this "fix" will help others to avoid the frustration that I encountered with the connection problem and with the lacklustre support of EA's Support crew.
