I couldnt stiffle a chuckle last night when I joined a server that had a server message with the line "'noob' is on the banned words list and will get you kicked". It was beautiful. Has that word become the strap on for everyone who dies by anything but a knife, pistol or gun? Good to know Im not the only one tired of the age old "dis". :laugh:

These servers make me laugh all the time. :laugh:
I still remember when I got banned from a server when I was commanding and posted in team chat "please repair commander assets"
Then I get banned because "ass" is on the banned list. -

I never say noob, so it's not that big a deal. I did get banned for saying "wtf?" though. I seriously meant it also ... LOL I had no idea what had just happened. Certainly wasn't complaining about anything ..... yet I got kicked anyhow.
I think anything typed should be banned ..... then maybe people would use VOIP. :)Comment

I think the server is just tired of hearing 'noob' everytime a sergeant major gets killed by a first sergeant, its just stupid to think that someone who is one rank below you is a noob, and its even stupider to call them a noob...Comment

I say all this because I moderate a CS 1.6 clan server and we encourage
Mature gameplay, Teamwork, AND RESPECT
We are against racial slurs, disrespect, whining and complaining...
A mature skilled player will not say bs or wtf after each time he gets killed, he will simply admit it and maybe say "ns"
So I would guess that the average age of those servers is 20 to 30 years old, and the clan members wish to get rid of all those swearing, complaining 10 year olds who always b!tch, complain and whine their asses off when they get killed...Comment

Some kid toobed me, killing both of us and I commented, saying something like "nice noob tube there, buddy": I was kicked right away. Well, I couldn't help but laugh and move on to another server...Comment

there's NOTHING gayer about the game than the fact that so many (or all?) servers don't allow swearing... seriously, it's so frustrating to not be able to run my mouth when i'm ****ed about something or yelling at someone. How old are administrators, 7? are their servers run by their parents or something? I'm sick of having to spell the F word with a V instead of a U cuz i almost forget each time. Admins must watch Barney on the weekends or something.Comment

yeah there was once a sargent major who was like i got my top score ever per round it was 25 i totally pwned him what a noob sucker, well im not a sargent major and my top score is 89 which is still not good but some people put countless hours into it to soley get up ranks and then think they are the best thing aroundComment

I agree servers shouldn't ban for saying words like noob or wtf - or swearing the game is rated 16 anyway fs. I often say wtf without even thinking in chat. I dont often use the in-game chat though. It's useless saying anything because most of the time they're such noobs anyway. If i do say somthing it'll probably be through the VOIP.Comment

I still reserve the right to see 'oh you lame f*ck' after I get noobtoobed by the same clown for the 2nd or 3rd time in a karkand alley. Don't throw that skill **** at me either, it doesn't matter how skilled you are, it takes 0.4 seconds for that t00ber to launch that one nade of lame and death at your feet.
Okaaayy but for the most part I love saying 'ns' and respecting my opponent. If it's a nice clean kill or I'm impressed, I'll even switch sides next round and try working with the person. If something uber ridiculous happens, I'll laugh. But there's just too many lame idiots that ruin the game in one way or another and swearing is my anti-drug. :<
All my kicks/bans are from swear filters. I don't learn.
