Practice Range Map till Feb 20th

Just making my own thread for the practice map I made. 78 people have downloaded it so far, I will not be giving Filecloud more money to host it for another month, so after Feb 20th or somewhere around there it won't be available.

So if you are intrested and want to get it, please go ahead and do so. I know it isn't perfect, and I could probably tweak it for another week, if it was anything more than a practice map I would :) Have fun.

Installation takes a bit of effort I am afraid, this is my first public release and I didn't realize it would be complicated.

So when you extract the files it needs to go in this directory
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Rangerev2

In this folder you should have a
client.zip
server.zip
and an Info folder which contains some png files and a desc file

To try the map locally, go into BF2 , multiplayer, create local, pick the 32 player size and then click start server, you can then play it locally.

Usually we have it up and running on our practice server 205.234.227.204 but not always :)

lol, some of them sure are messed up. I also hosted it on filefront, so I guess it won't expire :) I will fix the links.

Did you make sure that you put it in the right place?

Needs to go in this directory
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Rangerev2

I donwlaoded it and extraced it into the correct folder, but i cannot find it on the server list

Can i have the IP of the/a server with this map on plz ^_^

My server is set up for a TWL scrim and Match so it won't be available till after the match Tomorrow night. I will set it up on Wednesday after the match. You can start a local game with it and use it that way if you like.

I tried loading it on my server(unranked) and it won't work. I have the server.zip and info folder in the correct folder\mods\bf2\Levels\Rangerev2. I cant find the archive.md5 file, though. Is there something I am missing or need to do?

This is a good map for clans to build teamwork, practice any aspect of the game, just fool around (knife pit anyone?).

I was on there last night with Badlizzard and some of the TMF guys, the city part of the map would be great to get 20 people on and do battle, infantry only.

Download it, it's great. It's not a conquest, cap as many flags as you can map (only 1 capturable I think), but it's great for working on tactics or practicing bombing.

Oh, and run the map on 32 player size, 16 and 64 have boundaries, but 32 doesn't.

You only need the Server.zip and the info folder on the server directory, looks like you put it into the right place. But if you have a linux server I think everything should be lower case.

There is no md5 file for it, I didn't bother with it, didn't think anyone would bother trying to hack it, since it is just a practice map anyway.

Make sure you run the 32 player size, so you don't have to worry about no fly zones.

had the same problem with the map crashing when trying a SINGLEPLAYER =/

CREATE LOCAL with 1 player max worked fine though =]

Im on there atm, i need someone to fly the BH for me so i can practise sniping from it. plus i just want to see someone else on there lol
