Sound Problems on behalf of my gaming buddy

Right this is it...

Friend of mine rebuilt his pc, factory Dell Standard, using the supplied recovery partitions. All was fine, he installed BF2 again and when it came to sound it was all distorted.

He assures me he has used all the latest drivers and everything is patched up. And what i've told him to do was to go away and swap out his 71 Surround Sound speakers with other speaks, i.e headphones and to let me know how he got on. There maybe another post when I hear from him next. The model is a Creative Sound Blaster XFI.

I dont have one, all I can say is, make sure the X-fi drivers are all in fine, make sure he disabled the Onboard sound, and it is pushed into the PCI slot all the way ^_^. Also, X-fi requieres Serice Pack 2. But I mean, I dont have one so I dont know if it would work or not with SP1. Good luck :salute:
