LIVERMORE, California (AP) -- Officials at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have added a new weapon to their armory: a high-powered machine gun that can fire more than 50 rounds per second.

Lab critics questioned the wisdom of putting such powerful guns at the lab, which is across the street from suburban homes. LOL. :laugh:

Yup yup. It was on the front page yesterday & in the paper again today.

I don't see why they'd use gatling guns over say... machine guns. A gatling gun seems like too much overkill and it costs more. Already they have a large amount of guards there.

Seriously, there is absolutely, and I dare someone to say otherwise, no reason for a gun to shoot 50rounds/sec. I mean....Seriously. Anti-air? I doubt they would have time to even mount it to use it against a strike.

Useless against a plane going in to ram them.. they said it themselves. Besides, even if they did shoot down a small plane, there's a good chance it would crash into the civilian population.
A small civi helicopter could land a few guys.. but a machine gun could take it out.

Not attacking you, but I don't see the feasibility.
