Some people seem to forget that in the multi-player game they are not the only ones playing. What does this have to do with destroying a vehicle? Plenty. When you destroy a vehicle it returns to its orignal spawn point after a few seconds. If you killed the person(s) inside, he (they) will be there waiting on it! If not them then probably a team mate. The point Im trying to make is this, say on wake Island, for example, you take a boat and go to the main Island, Jump out and run to the nearest flag. Who's gonna help you cap that flag? No one, they are still waiting on the boat that you took to respawn. (it could be a chopper or jet also) You are more likely to get help, sooner, if you destroy the vehicle and let it respawn where it came from. (toss a granade in the boat, point the chopper or jet at the ground before you jump out) Some people say that it doesnt matter, but it does. You can actually jump out of a chopper, die and respawn, then wait almost a full 90 seconds before the chopper respawns. If the round lasts 15 minutes you will have spent one fifth of the round just waiting for a ride! Sounds like a good way to rack up points doesnt it.
There is another side to this too. Lets say you come across an empty enemy piece of Armor (could be a chopper or boat) and you destroy it. Remember it returns to its respawn point so you have just given the enemy another piece of armor. In this instance you should just let it sit there, it will eventually blow up and respawn but not right away. Now some people might think that I pointed my gun at it, and I didnt see a red name pop up there to tell me it belonged to the enemy so he is behind it repairing it. Its a simple matter to Press "Q" and spot the vehicle. If he is behind it he will show up on your mini-map. If he isnt it will show a "?". Best thing that could happen is an engineer on your team comes and repairs the armor or someone takes it to a resupply box and repairs it. Worst thing is maybe the enemy will do the same thing. All the noobs will say "oh thats dumb, the enemy will jump in it and kill me". Well, it was abandoned for a reason, it probably only has 2 or 3 health bars left and can eaisly be taken down. Maybe even by a granade! If you wait and take it down while its occupied by the enemy you will score points too.
The whole point to this thread is that this is obvious to me but may not be to you. I know in the last week Ive seen at least 10 or 15 times people have destroyed or not destroyed Items they should have. Once I was given a TK because I had laid AT mines in front and behind the APC, the driver jumped out, I killed him, and was removeing the mine in front when a noob jumped in ran over the mine, killed us both with my mine, giving me a suicide and a TK. I just thought that if you didnt know this someone should tell you. Does anyone have any other thoughts on This? . . . . . .Red
