    Alternate Voice

    Some noob questions...

    1) Now and then a player will have a different computer voice in the game. Any idea how they do this?

    2) When a player dot on the minimap turns white, what does that mean?

    3) When a spawn point dot turns red, what does that mean?

    No flaming please lol

Well, I'll take a stab at answering your questions. Frankly, they are good ones. I haven't seen this explained myself and have been teaching a friend to play and he asked some of the same.

    1) I'm not sure what you mean.

    2) I think white means it's selected.

    3) I think the red spawn point means that all spawn slots at that spawn point are currently occupied. In other words, you can't spawn in until someone moves.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong people. I'm guessing here.

        1) Like above... I'm not sure what you mean

        2) In commander mode, white dots mean those people are selected. If you see them in the normal gameplay, its most likely a bug.

        3) You are correct, all in all a red spawn point means that ALOT of people are trying to spawn there, just wait as slots will open very soon.

To further point out question 1's purpose. I also have noticed since a fresh install of BF2 that all in game voices are different. Some remain the same but radio commands seem to have been added.

When close enough to a player, you hear thier voice, but out of range you hear them on radio comm.

I now have radio messages like "Hit It!" "Move It" " Get Me outa here!" " I need a Medic Quick" and commander even says "We are Taking Heavy casualties, Over" wierd sh@t like that.

What the heck is that all about?

3rd total install of BF2, never had on the first 2 only now. Re-Install due to reformatting, not problems with the game.

                1. Commanders, Squad Leaders, and Squad members all have slightly different voice acting

                2. A white 'Enemy Spotted' dot is the enemy commander

                3. That means vehicles or players are standing over all the spawn locations for that point, and players are unable to spawn until there is enough room.

Awesome guys :) Thanks for quick answers!

In regards to the voice, its hard to explain - a wav file would be a cool example if I could offer it! I know the normal voices when someone is dishing out ammo and its like 'First Aid Here' or something of the like.
But now and then (only like 4 times I've heard it in the past 4 months!!) when they are next to me and they say it, its like really quick and abrupt voice.. like 'FirstAidHeeere' instead of 'First .. Aid ,, Here!'.
Damn its hard to explain in text lol!!! Hopefully someone has heard it and can offer help.

Regarding 2, I know you can select players from you owns squad and they will come up white.

About the sound. I got extra voices when I set my sound settings to high/max whatnot. Didnt have the "Hit it" and those when I used low/medium. If you pay attention, a lot of extra little dounds come in when you use max, for example, bird singing.

Ya i know exactly what ure trying to say. Some players can get their normal voice to be what they call the "Commander" voice. The commands are said slightly diffrently and in a completely diffrent voice. No idea how to change it, but supposed to be easy

...holy crap it's not that hard to understand. If you are the commander of your team you have a seperate voice. If you're actually running around with the rest of your team, whenever you use a radio command it uses the commander voice since that's what you are. get it!??!

Ya but i read some place where you can actually tweak you own voice to sound like the commander, thats what hes trying to get to.
