    Re: SF questions.

I used the EA downloader for my SF, it was relatively painless.
Buy it, download it, hit install, reinstall 1.12 Done.
The patches in SF are different. you can check UBAR for more info.

      Re: SF questions.

I'm really tempted but my bf2 just reminded me again of Euro Forces

Is euro forces the same as Sf in the sense of unlocking weapons that you can also use in bf2?

      What should i do. Argh

wow thats seems high. I think its $29 in Canada.
The bank of canada exchange rate says you should be paying 14 pounds.

Euro force won't have any unlocks to use in BF2.
You'll need to get SF for that.

                Re: SF questions.

There aint many medals in SF. Most are combat ones. If you already had the hours, then its just the case of getting the kills in the round as usual.

If ya looking for medal earning, then get SF, even if there is a medal that cant be got (jet medal when there are no jets in the game)

Euro Forces had only ONE medal, no ribbs or badges

As for medals, they are completly different but your classe time is cummulative from all versions.
Therefore if you already have the 100hrs you just need to go out in a SF server and get the twenty something kills needed in a round.

And there is just one patch to install after getting SF which is 1.12
Once 1.2 comes out this will be the patch needed since the retail version of SF is patchless....

                      Re: SF questions.

If I were you, I'd get SF on CD. Downloading is painless and easy, yes, but so is putting the CD in your tray AND YOU ALWAYS HAVE IT AS A BACKUP.

Euroforce will not provide unlocks. The 1.2 patch will provide unlocks to owners of SF.

SF maps are fun, but all the "hollow" buildings that allow you to have intense, indoor firefights are resource hogs (more surfaces to render). It takes (for me and most people, anyway) more time to load the game/verify data, etc. Other folks say that some SF maps can also bog down framerates, although I haven't noticed it.

The awards are different in SF than they are in normal bf2. You may have expert combat medic in Bf2, but in SF its the "Medic Specialist Badge". Though expert "Medic Specialist Badge" along with all the expert and veteran kit badges of SF are different awards, the time requirements for them are the same. Only difference is the hrs for the veteran badges, but for expert, its still 100 hrs. So, to get the "Medic Specialist Badge", if you already have 100 hrs as a medic, than all you have to do is play SF, and get 44 kills (note in SF the reqs are a bit more than in normal bf2) as a medic, and wa-la, Expert Medic Specialist Badge
