yes it does the smaller the number u post the cooler u are so if u post 1 then u are uber 1337 koolz0r 2nd is pretty koolz0r and 3rd is crap, everything after that is normal. as u can see no one likes being 3rd.

I also don't see what's so great about stating an obvious fact that no one really cares about.

I'm asuming it's related to that person's self-esteem; making themselves feel like they've accomplished something great. In a sense saying, "My e-penis is larger than yours!".
