Weird.

I setup my own server today and was messing about with a clan mate of mine. When I fired the missiles on the plane I got a message and even heard my guy saying "Fox one, Fox one" and then the second time I heard "Missile Away! Missile Away!" I even have screenshots to prove it... Anyway my question is, has anyone ever noticed this? I'v never heard this when flying in a ranked server which is usually all I play on.

Anyway it looks like I could of just typed it but it did actually say it through raidio which was pretty cool, you could try it yourself. I just hosted a game by going to "Create Local" and running it on a 64 man map of Dailian Plant.

Edit actually now that I'm in a squad in that picture you can actually see that I am not typing it. As it would say Squad before that and it clearly don't. Either way I just think its neat and wondered why you can't hear that in a ranked server...

It is strange, but not uncommon. Sometimes a games multiplayer experience is optimized for networks. It may have been cut for unnecessary bandwidth usage, who knows.
A fine example of this is Jedi Knight II: Outcast, the single player experience is so much better than multiplayer. Most servers were heavily modded by their hosts to get it up to a single player standard online.

Yeah, Ive seen this b4. Also, in tv-view with heli's, then you can't see the white + target* on ranked servers. only your own server.
i did report that to dice developers, when I was beta testing 1.2.

You know thats funny because I also seen the X when playing in there.. You could click it around and anywhere you clicked it, thats where it would go to. It would make flying the TV Missiles better...

It was not broadcasted, he just typed it in and got a screenshot.

I got the "Fox One, Fox One" voice when playing Clean Sweep on single player. Never had it again though...
