I have never had this problem before. I would enter a game and it would run perfect on high settings. I only ever experienced one slow down that lasted me 2 seconds. But now every time I join a room it freezes for about 2 seconds and then runs fine and then about every 10 minutes I get that minor freeze again. I forget if this happened to me before or after but I turned down my lighting, and shadows to medium for some reason.

I have a very similar if not the exact same problem.
Every time I enter a server about five seconds after being within the game there is a freeze that last for yes you guessed it, two seconds.
Not only dose it freeze but you can hear a screech from the speakers, as if the mic has messed up or something.
This has only started happening recently.
I have changed nothing and have a high spec computer which ran this game perfectly fine on the highest settings.
I’ve reinstalled the game, looked in vain for the latest updates on everything (Which I have already).
I’ve defragged and ran a disk clean up, yet still this happens.
