The server has been booked for March 5th. It will use Battlerecorder. I should be getting the server IP in a few days so then I'll be able to post that and everyone can be ready to film. If we start at 2est that would mean about 8uk time. And we'd probably be done by 4est at the latest. In order to get the movie off sooner I'm going to have a public release of the script in this thread for a day or 2 so everyones not downloading it at the last second.

There's a slight problem... I know I said my BF recorder was reliable, well... It crashed for the first time today.
I recorded some footage using my own computer as a server, some of my demo only played for about 4 minutes while others only lasted 30 seconds or so. It seems that I can still play demos from other servers though. DICE better hurry up with this patch or we'll have a mix of 1.2 and 1.21 servers and clients on film day. Or even worse, we record in patch 1.2, I can't play the demos and when we upgrade to patch 1.21 the demos will be void.
Can't they do anything right?
This whole patching BS is really starting to get to me, I'm don't usually rant on anything, but this directly affects everybody and this movie, right now!

yeah my demo files crash to desktop at around 5mins of watching it. they better hurry up with this patch

Well of course not, but what if the demo's don't play anyway?
I'm pretty buggered, as one might say. But don't let this cancel the film night, even if the patch doesn't get released. There's still a chance it might work, like the Sir. server bf2demo files.

If demos don't work I'll have to postpone the filiming to til the weekend after. I'm going to send in a support ticket now to the company to have a test server setup to see if I can get the demos. Because if the demos don't work then I want to get my money back. Nothing the company did it's just what DICE did. If anyone has success with recording demos please post as it is imparitive to this movies success.

Thanks Joe, if all goes well I'd like to have a copy of that test demo too. I had little knowledge of what arrangements you had made in regard to the server booking and wasn't sure what to do about this issue, but if you can make sure the demo gets recorded up to where I can receive the demo file(s) I can take it from there.

You can think about want you want to do in Photoshop after then, presentation wise.

you can see if they can get a admin to restart the round and stuff to make a new demo, but as far as you being in command in the first degree i highly doubt it will happen, only in the 2nd degree. but thats an alternative

They still haven't responded yet however I know the guy that owns the company. Not personally but from playing BF2 and what not. So hopefully I can get him on xfire and he'd be more than happy to address me with these issues. I'm pretty sure I have til the 4th to pay so I should be ok. If not I have a clan member that is working on getting BF2 setup on his dedicated server. Not sure of his progress yet but hopefully he will be able to put it up incase the other deal falls through. But it shouldn't considering it's mainly a software problem.

oh sorry, I must have made a statement that I didn't make in a post. When I sent a PM to "anonymous" telling him how I got the demo's to play I said that I only got the Sir. Server bf2demo files to work (right to the end)
I wasn't supposing that we used the Sir. Server for the filming lol. (Although I'd love to team up and make a movie one day with an admin at the controls)
It was just weird that the demo files from another server on 1.2 were playing fine whereas my home made 1.2 demos were CTD after 30 seconds.
So by all means this new server could be like the Sir. Server in the way that the demo's play and the problem isn't client related.
