C4 on friendly armor?

Could somone please tell me what's the point of putting C4 on the front of a friendly tank? I've seen this happen twice while I was driving. All it did was cause the tank to explode with one shot. I couldn't get out and take it off. The ones that put it there did it after loading up a dunebuggy, as though it was a momentary favor to boost the power of the tank, or scare people away from it...or what? I've run out of guesses, but it strikes me as a ridiculous thing to do. What am I missing here?

Isnt it to turn whatever you put C4 on into a gaint moveable bomb....drive it into a tank or whatever and boom

Yup, if I'm hit first and have no chance of killing him with my tank shells, I just ram, exit, and blow him, blow him hard.

I do it sometimes on Wetlands, put C4 on your tank or APC then go to an enemy flag where you have to get out and run up the stairs to cap the flag. Enemy gets in you tank or APC and boom... C-ya...

I'll put it on the sides sometimes when going in to heavy firefight areas, so that if you exit, with 2 or 3 bars left or an enemy spec-ops planting C4, and an enemy climbs in to steal it, I can blow it.

yeb yal dont understand what he meant. He didnt put the c4 on, so he couldnt have wanted to make a "megabomb", other teammates put it on him. Whicjh is pointless. But they are probably just trying to make ya jump out.

I believe there’s a bug with throwing C4 on a vehicle.

Because one time I threw C4 in the wheel well of an APC and drove off. After a few minutes an enemy threw C4 into the same wheel well and it blew up, instantly. It gave me a suicide and a kill.
