Don't you get an unlock at each promotion?

I just started a new account and got my first promotion but no unlock. I thought you get them at every promotion, but I guess not. When is the first one and at what rank I can start unlocking SF guns?

Lance Cpl and Sgt, respectively. Though I'm unsure of the latter.

JarEme is correct.

First tier 1 unlock is Lance Corporal.
First tier 2 unlock is Sergeant.

First tier 2 unlock is Sergeant.

And when patch 1.2 is released they will both be Lance Corporal.

If a class has 2 unlocks available then you need to unlock them in the proper order.

For example, AT players will not be able to unlock the new P90 if they don't have the DAO-12 already unlocked first.

yeah yeah i knew that, but its possible to unlock both at the same rank anyway as you get 2 unlocks at all ranks (so far what i've experienced)
