Guys im having some problems with my PC at the moment and thought one of you experts could help me out....

Firstly, after i press Login at the login screen, the "connecting to account server" box comes up and stays there for minutes!!! It never used to take so long!

Secondly, and more importantly, whenever i try to restart or shutdown, it just stays on the desktop, nothing happens, and i have to turn the PC off by holding down its power button for 5 seconds. ??????

I have Norton and 2 different spyware programs...

Any ideas guys?
Any help would be much appreciated!

I had this happen to me when there was something wrong with the account server. I'm not at home, so I can't verify this.

If it happens again, you may try disconnecting your internet connection (physically), instead of a power cycle.

yes and always have done, and never had any problems...

until now...so shouldnt be anything to do with norton

i had problems with norton... switched to avast but it shouldnt be the problem of not loggin' in...
