I'm glad they fixed the "red name tag" bug, but I must admit I'm pretty disappointed at the loss of the ability to pick up the mines/claymores/c4... and the delay kinda sucks. I don't see why they can't release a small patch with the stuff they have working and then release another small patch when they get more stuff fixed.
Oh well, at least there is some good news. *sigh*
i know what u mean i was looking forward to that feature too
I'm betting that the red tag bug is NOT fixed... I don't care if they haven't seen it in testing... Unless they have hundreds of thousands of people testing it on thousands of servers, I'd bet it show's back up... Just my two cents..
Wow.
EA seems to be improving their communications skills raher dramaticly.
Not only was this update timely, but they didn't try to BS their way out of the bad news. How very un-EA of them!
:p
I'm glad they pulled the feature they didn't feel was up to par. If they did it, they did it for a reason. The physical picking up of mines might have been working, but who's to say what kind of issues they might have had in the background?
I also aprove of them being willing to break a deadline in favor of quality. This is a damned good thing. I know that "Dead Line" is always spelt with capitals around the EA offices... a policy that lands them and their products in trouble more often than not.
Nice to see DICE sacrificing the deadline for quality... but am I the only one to think that they will want this to be the last patch they will have to make for bf2... unless the booster packs bring more problems.
Yea, for some reason, alot of the times I've been noob-tubed I haven't seen any visual or audio representation of the nade launched at me... nice to see this is gonna be addressed
I just read about this 5 minutes ago, and I was actually happy about it. If delaying Euro Force for a couple of weeks to make the patch better is what they have to do, then cheers to them. Dice gets a lot of criticism from pretty much every direction about some of the bugs in this game, but I really do think that they listen to what the community has to say. They may not be too speedy issuing patches, but at least we know the patches will be good ones. And hopefully, I'll FINALLY get to quit reading posts about the red/blue bug.
im f*cking p*ssed that you cant pick up c4 or mines, especially w the claymores - u only get 2 and if you try to trap someone but he doesnt come i want that one back

Because you'd be even more p*ssed if it went in and didn't work right.
C'mon, the name tag bug happened once every 50hrs of playing time for me and when it happened it was only till the person was finally killed wich was for at most, a few minutes. Everytime I play spec ops/sniper/engineer I wish I could pick up my explosives and I should be able to @least pick up c4!!!! I would rather no delay due to a tiny, miniscule name tag bug and how hard could it possibly be to code it so that spec ops can pick up their thrown c4. It's a no brainer that you should be able to pick it up. I'm a bit dissapointed but I guess they are doing the best they can do, @least they are keeping us up to date even though this is sooooo last minute in reality. Glad I've been checking the website everyday for nothing. ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Whatta malcontent! I can only guess your irritability is due to your MENOPAUSAL condition...c'mon, the wheels only fall off the cart every five miles, I can deal with that as long as I get to drive...get over your bad self...light some scented candles and take a nice hot bath.
Let me guess. You pick up the C4, but when you detonate one later, the ones in your pocket go off too? AHAR! J/K
Happens to everyone every now and then but that is not the point. The c4 is not detonated by force, it uses a remote so you should definately be able to re-place it if you choose.
