    Landing

i was wondering who aLL wanted to see them make it to where jets and helis have to land even may be a touch and go(landing without stopping).
i am a pretty decent pilot non the less and i certainly dont mind...i mean it shows you know how to fly if you can land and take off!
i think it will make it more balanced. what do you guys think!

i'm sorry do you mean that u would have to land to heal and reload? If yes then I don't very much like the idea. too much fuss ant them camping SOB's will have a field day on your ass.

        Re: Landing

It would make it a bit more realistically, but then the tatic of people putting C4 on the runway and just waiting for the pilots to touch-and-go. But yea, too much effort and it would be hard to touch and go on some runways (ie. those with cliffs at the end, but on carriers it would be fine.

            Re: Landing

If you have to land to reload or get repairs the biggest problem will be some runways are not open on both sides most have hangers or mountains next to them, so you’d have people struggling to turn the airplane around just so they can take off again.

              2 things.

              1. The harrier cant really do a touch and go, im sure it could if you really tried but it would be much harder then it would with the other jets

              2. You would see people who stand on the runway so you couldnt rearm and if you did you would get a tk.

I think it would be good, but it will never happen. Not only would most players not want it, but imagine how it would be with the campers as it is now...who step in your way as you take off so you get a TK...they would be lined up on the runway as you land, even more TK's...

                    Re: Landing

After one reload you would get kicked and banned from the server because of all the tk's from the nooblets on the runway.

                      having to land to rearm/repair=no

why?, because if you penalized air like that, you would have to do the same to gound. soldiers go to medics operation tent, tanks roll into the repair areas. you would have to make it so the same happens to all, and that would be boring.

                        Re: Landing

For the stupidity of public play it doesn't work. For organized play it would be lovely since these jets can get acrossed a map in the blink of an eye which means they can bomb almost anyplace with skill in a wink. It would be nice and dandy if other reloading and repair/medical stuff was nerfed as well.

                          You're friggin' kidding me right?

It would add an immense amount of balance to the game without taking much in the form of modifications. Sure, we would still want the A.A. fixed, but a jet would value the munitions while airborne and only take shots at critical targets, instead of turning into a constant mobile artillery point.

I fly the jets whenever I get a chance, and I'm pretty skilled at it (There are betters, but, I match up well against almost everyone I'm in the air with) and I have absolutely no problem landing.

Sure, you run the risk of Tk'ers, but they are already in the game and already pose as much of a threat as they are going to. Truth be told, if they wanted to shoot you down they could just target you with A.A., it's extremely accurate against friendlies.

Once again, I'm all for this. It would add the difficulty to Jet piloting that's lacking. As it stands, I have gotten to a point where my FOV allows me to stay airborne as long as I please, even vs. exceptional pilots. I might not be able to get them down, but I damn sure can stay airborne.

                            - It's a F-35B (i.e. JSF) :p
                            - Yes, you would get loads of tks.
                            - Landing a F-35B is just as easy as any other plane (as long as you use the joystick throttle )
                            - If you're making a touch-and-go with 300~350km/h you're pretty much an easy target (don't try making a touch-and-go at 450km/h :p).

Wouldnt it give the JSF a massive advantage you just slam it in hover mode . I think thats how it works in the Royal navy with the harrier ATM they have a very small runway with a ramp at the end for taking of and when it comes to landing they go into hover mode (uk here).

Actually ive just though are there going to be any uk carriers in the EUROFORCES booster pack.
