When u bring up the task manager and go to processes and set bf2.exe to higher priority then its at, does that improve ur performance or what does it do?

Well, it will gives more processing priority to BF2 and LESS priority to other applications running. So if you need special software running to use your mouse, keyboard, or joystick for example, they will run sluggishly and erractically
At least that was the case for me.
If you don't rely on these types of background processes for Battlefield 2, then by all means...increasing the process priority CAN improve performance marginally. -
