I got lance corporal at 500pts???

I just hit like 650 points and I got promoted to Lance corporal... isn't that supposed to be at 1000 points? Furthermore it gave me an unlock, so I picked the G3. Only it won't let me select it in game, yet it still shows it as unlocked in BFHQ. What happened is, last time I played I stopped at like 516 points and it didn't promote me to PFC, even after restarting so something was wrong. Then this time I played today, after getting a few points it tells me I'm a lance corporal while I'm playing, after the game I go and re-login and get the unlock and so-on. Anyone have a problem like this? I'm worried what's going to happen when I hit 1000 points, if I'll be able to use the G3 then?

wow where have u been? some many patches ago they changed the point values so it would be possible to get promoted..so now at 500 points u get promoted...and at 800 u get corporal

Lol whatever I've only been playing the game less than 2 weeks, besides everything I found in google searches showed the old ranking system (I guess the answer was right here). I'm still confused about where to select the G3... All I tried since I earned it was single player, I would think I could test it out before I go up against people. In the kit selection for assault there's a grayed out weapon in the corner, but it's not selectable and it isn't a G3, it's something that looks like a bullpup rifle. Am I missing something?

You can't unlock weapons in single player. Go "try out" your new unlock on somebody named "superpwnzer12", or "baddybaddy2shooz"--something that will yell back at his/her monitor, and seek vengeance.

In other words, the only way to enjoy your shiny new oobersmacker is to load up a multiplayer game and send some unlucky smacktard to the the respawn. Good luck.


Technical info:
There will be a flashing yin-yang looking arrow above your primary weapon when you choose you kit in multiplayer. Just click on that to select your unlock.

Ok it's there alright. I don't get why they don't let you get a feel for new weapons in SP, doesn't make sense to me why not. Much easier to practice the weapon's characteristics on those dumb bots.
