Like everyone else, things worked before PB's latest update. Even though I have a fairly wimpy system I still was able to play... enjoyably.
Then came the blue screens (I have Wiin 2000). When I heard about the second update I jumped over to install it and ... no more blue screen!!! Now it just freezes on the Spawn screen; really weird, the forward part of the screen with the map and team/weapon selection (and my cursor) all freeze. The background runs smoothly along, with the sounds (we're loosing people...), soldiers and vehicles moving past, things crashing... But I'm stuck, sitting there drooling, I can't even escape the screen. The only thing that I can do to get out is Cont/Alt/Delete.
I assumed, and still do, that it's all PunkBuster. But the only thing is, it still does the same thing on Single player. Not every single time, once in a while it allows me to slip into single player (never multi), but when I exit the single player game the computer acts all bogged down, like it's in bad need of restarting.
I can understand the possible problem with multiplayer, my computer only has 512 mb ram (though it always worked fine before on Low/Med settings, but why would a Punkbuster issue effect single player???
My specs are AMD 2.6, IVidia G Force FX 5700LE w/256MB DDR AGP, and like I said 512 MB ram.
Sooooo.....
Any idea why it's suddenly not handling even a single-player game it could before???
