    Radio Commands Question

In-game people can spam radio commands, such as "Enemy unit spotted!" about a hundred times. Is there a way to turn the noise off without putting down the Effects volume in the Audio settings? I don't care if the text shows up, but is there a command file you can edit so there's no sound for them? Thanks a lot.

    Re: Radio Commands Question

Turn off the sound? I play using two, massive Yamaha PA speakers (750 watts rms) with a Fender mixer amp. It would be great sound, if it weren't for even the "we've lost control of another outpost" repeating every five minutes. It drives the household up the wall, so I'm forced to use headphones.

"Enemy unit spotted" is usually a message sent by a commander that's micromanaging the zoom feature of the command screen. To me, this information is best passed on by people on the scene, so they can specify what KIND of unit. I'd prefer the commander be taking the broader view with scans, and by watching the unzoomed map to track the battle in its entireity.

As far as I know the only way to stop the constant noise from the commander is to beg vainly for him to stop, then mutiny.

However, with the UAV off, and a thing like at Sharqi with a tank on the loose, I'd rather see him lit up as he moves through town so we can know what street he's on. Same with the chopper.

Sometimes when a unit has appeared and suddenly disappeared, and someone hits "Q", then left clicks the spot, the same general message appears, but you get a question mark. Some folks may not know if you hold down the Q button, and right click the spot, you get a drop down list and can specify what it was they saw go by. (Big difference between a sniper and a tank!)

But, I'm with you. It drives ME up the wall, and ruins the rest of the sound to hear the commander constantly screaming, "enemy unit spotted." Rarely is it helpful. People tend to ignore unduly repititious things, anyway. So, these commanders lost their audience about ten "enemy units" ago. Why bother to continue. Tell me where their ARMY is deployed across the map in text. I can use that. Then put the UAV where they mostly are. Spare us the "enemy unit" crap.

      Re: Radio Commands Question

Double post? My modem is giving me fits this week. So, here's a joke:

A man is walking past a wooden fence surrounding the backyard of an insane asylum. Suddenly he hears people on the other side yelling, "Twenty-one! Twenty-one!" So, he finds a knothole in the fence and peeks in. When he does, a sharp sticks STABS him in the eye, and the people start yelling, "Twenty-two! Twenty-two!"

It can be done... however, in order to manage it you will need:
          One 15 pound sledge
          Two condoms
          $150 cash
A jar of peanutbutter (extra chunky for best results)
          A live chicken
          A very sharp knife
A Virgin (shouldn't be hard ta find 'round these parts)

Once you've collected these items, post and we can start talking about the ritual that must be preformed.

Please, I need a serious answer. If nobody knows, can you please tell me where I may find out how to edit these sounds? Thanks

Sorry man. It seems that its just something we are all going to have to deal with. People don't listen to the spams b/c they are annoying and even more people refuse to mutiny or kick someone who repeatidly spams out messages. This lack of power only urges on these lonesome people whose only enjoyment is the slow torment of others due to the fact that they are still too noobish to actually make any sort of difference.

Can't you mute certain people via the "Manage" tab on the score board? Or does that only apply to VOIP?
