vid card troubles

specs amd 3200+
1 gig ram, x800 256 card
420w psu

ok here it goes,, i used to run a 9800 pro anll med settings just mint the card fried and i bought a x800 (should be faster) i had problems with smartgart running at 0x agp speed i fugured that out by downloading new chipset drivers, it nowruns at 8x agp,, but still on only med setting i only hover around 30 fps and it chops up alot, im running the newest driver 6.1 i would like to think i could run at high settings? any suggestions of what else i can do ? i was also wondering i have sound blaster audigy 2 what setting should i run the sound at, and does the sound have anything to do with frame rates? any help would be helpful....stupid bf2 has consumed me lol...i need a life

Try reinstalling.

I have seen (in some cases) that when you get a new video card with BF2 installed with the Older card, your performance decreases, like with adding another card for SLi. Try repatching or reintalling.

you have to make sure you clean the old drivers and install the new ones proprly, i dont know how but it usually makes all the difference (i hear)

Yeah I have heard that also. There is a driver cleaner program out there also for video drivers. Personally I have never had a problem with just installing over the old drivers....but then again what do I know.
