Copied BF2 folder in the mod section then edited works in SP but roomate cant get in

I copied the entire bf2 folder under mods and then renamed it ****ER then I edited files in it gave my roomate the entire folder via CD and he installed it and tried to connect via lan the way we normally do he hops on his singleplayer game loads a map I use IP to connect it loads then kicks me and says this server only supports unmodified content? How is one supposed to use a mod then?

you need to delete the .md5 files inside the mod folder and inside the levels folders, thats what is causing it

There should be two in the main folder and one in the levels folder

you cant name files ****ER in windows * is a reserved character
