so you went from a FRESH install and ONLY installed the v1.12 patch?

If so, where did you download it from?

Maybe you should try D/Ling it again.

Also, post the contents of PATCH.ERR in your BF2 directory.

I downloaded it from the EA mirror, and yes I went from a fresh install to just ONLY the patch

Ok...it looks like the patch did not actually update the game properly. Particularly, it seems like the BF2.exe file was not replaced.

ENTRY: BF2.exe
warning wpt0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was
found. No update done since file contents do not match.

I'm gonna see if I can dig up some info on alternative patching methods for you.

Also, can you tell me what directory you installed BF2 into?

hmmm thats very odd I just have one hard drive so its c, and i installed to C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2

To update: problem solved by replacing his patch-botched BF2.exe with a valid and properly patched v1.12 BF2.exe.

Hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem.
