Re: Out of no where Invalid CD Key!

Well, I helped a friend overcome this error by doing the following:

    -update Punkbuster (http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php)
-browse to your BF2 directory and look in the 'Support' folder
    -run 'Battlefield2_code.exe'
-re-enter your CD key when prompted
-then download and run the following:
    - ftp://ftp.ea-europe.com/UK_Support/E...CDKeyCheck.exe

Re: Out of no where Invalid CD Key!

Well, reinstalling did the trick in the end. However I may have not had to reinstall if i'd bothered to look at Talus's post before I started. As stated in my original post the the cd key entries in the ergs folders were in plain text and that may have been my problem, perhaps if i'd done that cdcheck (which i think encrypts them) and the pb udate, i would have got away with it.

Thank god, I'm now in and playing once again. Thanks for the responses guys.

        Hey no problem.

Unfortunately, it's a pain, but a complete re-install of BF2 solves MOST problems.

Well... I decided to give it one last try and so once again deleted BF2 then manualy deleted everything I could find on the hard drive that was BF2 related then re-installed (again)...

Woo hoo! success at last. Not sure what was causing the problem in the first place though.

                      That isn't a question..it's a statement (exclamation actually)

Besides..you aren't the OP. The OP seems to have his problem solved..it seemed like you had another question.

Have you TRIED everything put forth in this thread?

If so, let's keep this thread open and see if somebody comes up with a solution.

                        Oh, my bad. Damn grammer.

I have tried EVERYTHING multiple times, I just got finished reinstalling for the third time. Nothing has worked.

The closest I have been to fixing this problem is when I got to play one round of BF2, disconnected to change some settings, tried to rejoin and got the error agian.

Can you post the exact error message you are receiving?

                          Or try this:

??? I'm getting a invalid cd key error. I don't remember exactly what it said.

I told you I already tried all the EA fixes multiple times, along with various community fixes.

Sorry if I sound mad at you, i'm actually mad at BF2.
