I GOT BF2 AND SF FOR CHRISTAMAS BUT SF WOULDNT INSTALL COZ OF PATCHING FAILED (I HAD A RADEON 9200 WHICH ISNT SUPPORTED) SO WE GOT IT WORKING (4GOTTEN HOW) AND IT WORKED KINDA.....NOW IVE INSATLLED BF2, PATCH 1.12, SF, PATCH 1.12 AND I BOUGHT A ATI X700 AND IT CRASHES BACK TO THE DESKTOPAT A RANDOM TIME, THEN WHEN I LOAD IT UP AGAIN IT DOES IT SLIGHTLY QUICKER, UNTIL IT GOES BACK TO THE DESKTOP ON THE "EA GAMES CHALLENGE EVERYTHING" SCREEN.
HOW DO I FIX THIS?!?!?! I ALSO GET UNMODIFIED CONTENT ERROR!

Try uninstalling the game completely.

Then...

Install bf2, then patch 1.12

Next install special forces, and patch 1.12 again

I'm scared that if i re-install it i'll get the "patching failed error" again. If i do how do i fix it? But please dont get too carried away with how to fix the patching failed error, coz i aint got it yet and i wanna stick to the main question

Did you delete your old drivers upon installing new card? If not do that, also try the support forum.

nah, my old card has the same drivers as the new one, or do i still need to reinstall them? ALSO, I FORGOT TO PUT THIS IN THE FIRST BIT, IT SEEMS TO CRASH DURING A SOUND, LIKE I'LL CLICK TO FIRE AND INTEAD OF GOING "BANG" IT WILL GO "BA BA BA BAN BAN BA BANG **CRASH**"

OK mate, i think you need to take a look at ALL of your drivers including DirectX.
I seem to remember some people having lots of problems installing the patch but you really have got to keep trying (uninstall/reinstall patch).

Try re-downloading the patch from a different source if you can, and try another game that uses comparatively the same resources on your PC.

I would certainly update ure drivers(if your using the ones which came with the card) Best bet though is to post ure probs in support forum along with ure full system specs and your settings used for BF2 also have a look(use search) on there for ppl with similar issues and the suggested fixes posted. GL.

We forced EA to put the patch on a disk and send it to us lol.

Try not shouting at everyone, you might get a better responce.

As people have mentioned, make sure you have the latest drivers for everything. Turn off your firewall and antivirus.

I wouldn't suggest turning OFF your firewall etc imo.
I use ZoneAlarms thingy and it lets me say yes or no to certain programs.
If you have the patch on a disk, you may need to re-instal the actual game.
Whats it like on SP ?
Obviously if you get the same problem there then it isn't an internet type fault, but more likely something on your PC. Are you running loads of stuff in the background?
I assume you know the cont+alt+del thing.
Shut down everything you don't need for the game and try again.
