Loud, high-pitched screech noise???

I have been having a problem lately that only seems to be in bf2 and sf. After playing for an hour or two this loud high-pitched screeching noise keeps happening. It comes and goes but is getting really annoying! It's kind of a sound like when you use your night vision but a lot louder and more high-pitched. My mic is muted for playback so I know it's not coming through that. I have a soundblaster audigy 2 ZS platinum and have my audio settings on high in the game using the EAX. Also, after playing the game for a few hours, it starts to lag and seems to be a sound issue. The sounds get all distorted and don't play right.

Anyone else have a case like this?

Have you updated your audio drivers?

Otherwise, you may have to lower your audio settings to medium depending on the rest of your system specs.

Also, have you tried the BF2OpenAL.dll file replace trick?

AH, just noticed they released new drivers. I will try those and see if it helps. Nope, never tried the BF2OpenAL.dll file replace trick.
