Boat & Jet Ski touch of Death!

I don't know whether this has been mentioned before and if it has then I’m sorry but there is a really annoying bug to do with dismounting the boats and Jet ski's that really ticks me off!

Basically with what seems like about half the time I beech a boat or Jet Ski this happens... I dismount and then I DIE! "ShockWolF is no more".

I believe this has something to do with the boat/jet ski drifting into me (even very slowly and gently) as I dismount.

This is very unrealistic and unlikely to happen in real life unless the soldier was so jumpy and frightened that the slightest little bump from his boat/ski was enough to give him a damn heart attack after his big brave dismount. Either that or maybe riding a Jet Ski or Boat sends your blood cholesterol levels through the roof thus glogging your arteries? Or maybe it’s an over exaggerated static shock big enough to stop your heart? :p I dunno…

Anyone else experiencing this Annoying Aqua Transport Phenomenon?

Was scanning the forums and saw this post. It really aggrivated me so I decided to reply.

Being as I am a "real soldier" I'd like to ask that you don't presume to know what goes through our heads, how we feel or the way we would react. Until you have had bullets sent your way "for real" then you can not begin to fathom the mind set of a career soldier.

That said, even as a civillian, if I were stupid enough to jump out of a moving, intentally beached boat or jet ski I would be thankful that I lived and wasnt run over and killed. Two tons of boat moving very slowly is still 1.9 tons heavier than you.....

Mate, believe me, a Jet Ski doesn't weigh 2 tons
Getting run over by a very slightly moving rubber boat doesn't seem completely realistic to me, ne?

It's a bit buggy indeed. They made it better in 1.02 (or was it 1.03?), but you still get killed by being hit by non-moving (well, almost) vehicles too often.

The best way to avoid it is to reverse, and stop the boat, before you get out.

if you look the way you wanna go and click E as hard as you can you will see the difference in your splatter deaths. and yes. pushing e helps a lot if you push it hard.

widowmaker, to quote the 2nd greatest drill instructor in movie history, Sgt. Hulka "Lighten up, Francis" If this guy's comments about a jet ski riled up your military bearing, then you probably need to go see the mental health dept. BTW chippy, I'm 11 years into a real military career.

I'm sorry if you took my post the wrong way and no disrespect to you but had you bothered to read my post carefully you should have realised I never actually presumed to know what goes on in a real soldiers head at all. I did however make "intentionally and clearly obvious" false sarcastic joke comments about the possibilities of why a soldier might die as he dismounts a beached rubber boat or Jet Ski. If you found these to be offensive in anyway to your career as a soldier then I do so apologise. However I do find that very doubtful. In my opinion I don’t think my post would offend a true soldier at all. In fact I am thinking that you are more likely to be just some pretentious individual testing my patience.

Although I may not have been a soldier in my lifetime and have absolutely no intention of being one I was however once a child up to a young teenager that used to spend a lot of time around Cabin cruisers and Yachts with my Uncle. I have sailed, jumped off and swum around them and helped to get them on and off trailers/in and out of the water. I know for a fact that heavy Boats DO NOT MOVE on their own when beached and whilst half in water half out they are still difficult to pull and push. So to sum it up a boat that is heavy enough to kill a person on impact simply will not drift slowly and kill someone when beached. It will remain wedged thoroughly to the ground and very still after. It will simply not carry on moving on it’s own accord all by itself.

A lightweight beached rubber dingy wouldn’t go anywhere either unless a wave came washing in after it. Even then it would be the weight and force of the wave rather than the boat that would determine the damage dealt to an individual standing adjacent to the boat. You’d be unlucky to gain a simple little bruise or scratch from a rubber dingy in an incident like that yet alone get killed.

On the other hand if the boat was still travelling at full speed as it was still in the process of beaching and some fool stood or jumped off in front of it then a fatal accident is very likely to occur. However that has nothing to do with what I am doing in the game or what I actually am trying to point out as the bug here. I am talking about dismounting a stationary already beached boat or Jet Ski and dying straight after. The boats/Jet skis are not still travelling at full speed when I dismount. I usually give it a few seconds for it to become still before I jump out, it is still unrealistic that it should suddenly drift and touch me before I drop dead.

This is a bug and I am simply reporting it. I do not wish to get involved in any ridiculous arguments about real soldiers or any wartime stories thank you very much.

                  PEACE

Before reading my posts can I please advise that people learn how to actually read properly first?

Also I don’t recommend doing drugs before reading my posts either. Drugs can make you delusional and cause people to misread and get wrong ideas thus causing them to make unnecessary comments that are inaccurate in relation to what has previously been said.

Thank you and have a nice day. :)

well, they fixed the insta death by being bumped by a friendly tank, they could perhaps tweak they boats and jet ski's.

Yep, or in this case tweak the 'neutral' boats and jet ski's. It's just a question now whether EA can be bothered. :hmm:

its almost like getting run over by a parked car at times and ive actually never really got run over by a boat yes to my own tank falling down a hill that was a lil to steep for it that was kind of funny though esp. with half of your clan sitting there watching you, but never a boat for me.
