Whats the point of unlocking it ?I think it may have a bigger clip and, or a very fine scope

a bigger clip and better scope there is you reason right there. since it will still take two shots to kill some one who cares about the damage.

if it is less acurate then the M95 , it sucks big time .
The M95 is just not acurate for a sniper weapon (I only aim for head when sniping) , with the M24 I almost always get headshots, that is an acurate sniper

It does sound like a ripoff to me. Sounds like they'd give it a nice scope- As long as it's accurate, it'd be a nice break from the SVD/Type98 for players that don't play USMC that would like the accuracy and quality of an M24.

Don't forget it's very high calibre, not as high as an M95, but it should still leave armoured enemies with only 2 bars of health left, whereas the M24 does a bit less damage on armour.

indeed, as non US you just don't have a decent sniper , doesn't have to do a lot of damage, just enoug for headshots

Hit the nail on the head there, mate. :)

I dislike the M95 because at any sort of long range it just doesn't hit, let alone getting the required headshot to put the enemy down in one shot. The M24, however, doesn't have a problem with that.

I dont see a problem with any of the sniper guns, pistol included. All you have to do is learn to use them because they are all a little different. I think I have a 65% hit rate with the M95 and most of my shots are at long range (around 200 meters, I usually defend flags as sniper). I would really like a silenced rifle, because I sometimes hunt other snipers and I find them by thier weapons report (sound). If you listen close you can tell the different rifles by thier sound, thier all different. Thats why I sometimes pick up enemy weapons, some people Identify you by the weapon you carry and its sound. Thats a trick I heard about from a veitnam vet. Some real world tactics do work in game, believe it or not. I do hope you are right about the weapon though. . . . . .Red

Semi Bolt action, anyway, we wont be able to tell till we actually get to play it.
Most snipers used the M24 for the headshot effect but most on ground snipers get probably more kills with the SVD.

All sniper rifles are much more accurate in zoomed mode in 1.2.

I still preffer SVD guys!!! I good hands 10 rounds clip= 10 headshots!
And still it counts 1 shot 1 kill!

You get a crosshair and a bullet, it all depends on how you aim that makes the 2 turn into a kill, for me it dosent really matter.

Ill unlock it cause i want some variation. Some days i get plent of headshots with the m95 and some with the m24.
