[MOVIE] The Duel

Finally I have completed 'The Duel'. Unfortunately it fell a tiny bit short of what I had hoped:

1. At the beginning there is some slowdown, this only occured in the codec I used however If I changed codec the filesize would have been to high and the quality too low, don't worry it's not a huge problem and goes away very quickly.

2. Some sound effects crackle (very few, only 2), a codec problem also that I could not fix no matter what I tried.

Other than that I think it turned out very well and the Video Quality is amazing in HD.

For those who want to watch HD I suggest you have your monitors set to 1280x1024 or it is pointless to watch in HD as you monitor resolution would be lower than the videos.

u seem pretty anti fraps but, very nice quality movie. This video basically just seems like a showcase of high quality high definition video, although i notice it lags considerably when the two engineers are walking.

hmmm dl'd the HD version and got this error message when i went to upzip it:

! C:\Documents and Settings\Joshua\My Documents\My Videos\The Duel HD.rar: CRC failed in The Duel HD.wmv. The file is corrupt

! C:\Documents and Settings\Joshua\My Documents\My Videos\The Duel HD.rar: Unexpected end of archive

going to dl the smaller one and see if the same thing happens

EDIT: the small version worked just fine, good movie..not quite what i was expecting but good none the less. can't wait for more.....speaking of which...Endgame?? anything new to tell??

I dled the HD version fine.

I must say, although not much of an action/story movie, It is brilliantly made.
The angles, the music, the movements...Bravo. I think thats the most well made computer game video I've ever seen. You may have what it takes to become a good director/producer.

The sniper against the sun...the feet...the rifle against the neck...the camera movements...Bravo!

It truly is maginificently made.

That deserves to be on the front page I think. It really really is awesome to watch such original movie shooting.

I really liked the feet bit and was really dissapointed when It lagged out, i wish I could have fixed it but I don't think it was possible.

Just watched it again! The part where the MEC with the rifle shoots the Engineer, and then you zoom out towards an aiming sniper. Thats almost inspirational like. The part with the sniper against the sun almost looks like an actual movie. *Sends link to everyone on MSN*

After experimenting a little Im deduced the following:
A) The Sound issue was NOT caused by the codec
B) It occurs in every Audio/Video codec
C) It must be either my Sound Card (which I suspect because it has been acting up lately) or Premiere.

I think you will find it was probably premiere, because that has happened to me a few times now.

EDItT I downloaded the HD version and it was corupt, so ill try the low res now.

Hmm people seem to be having that problem.

Make sure you have the LATEST version of Windows Media Player, if you have it perhaps your computer is not fast enough to play HD. I know the file is fine because people have watched it and talked to me about it.

I downloaded the HD version and didn't have any problems with it. I really liked the "widescreen" view of the movie. Do you work behind a widescreen? :)

No I use a 4:3 monitor but I much prefer how widescreen looks at it's the same ratio proper movies use.

Anyway, can the people who have only commented on the video quality maybe share their thoughts on the actual content?
