How Do I Force It To Optimize Shaders After Changing Video Settings?

ive had a problem recently, i was changing video settings and noticed that it DIDNT optimize shaders when loading up.

since then, ive had some very annoying stuttering at the start of each map, which goes away after a few minutes.

i managed to make it optimize by turning all settings to high, but when i turned them back down to medium it WOULDNT optimize.

im almost sure my problems are because of the lack of optimizing, because nothing else has changed and ive never had this kind of stuttering before. Its not a frames per second drop or internet lag, its actually like stuttering.

Clear your cache folder in the My Documents/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/cache (note: if you don't have the xpack, then the /mods/bf2 directory does not exist, the cache folder is in the root Battlefield 2 folder).

i cant find either folders or files called cache.

is it a cache folder, or a cache file?

                  goto:

                  My Computer
                  "your" Documents
                  Battlefield 2
                  Mods
                  BF2
                  Cache...

delete ALL folders inside that Cache folder.

now back up to where you saw BF2 and xpack, goto the xpack folder and do the same thing again inside the Cache folder.
