The order of Battlefield 2 Smallarms

There seems to be some constant questioning about which BF2 gun is better at what situation, so I summarize each BF2 gun's purpose below.

Guns in BF2 can be divided into three categories:

Firepower: Has strong firepower but moderate/low accuracy
Balanced: balanced firepower with good accuracy
Precision: accurate but weak

PKM, G3, AK101/47, and all shotguns belong to the firepower camp. They should be used at close/medium range, in combination with prone position and cover. You should change your firing position very fast. You need to get close to the battlefield

M16, L85, G36E, F2000 are balanced, with G36E balanced toward accuracy and F2000 balanced toward damage. Those guns are the mainstay weapons, they are not particularly good, nor bad, but they can do well in all situation, especially medium range

all spec op carbine are accurate but very weak, with damage maxing out at 27. Your best bet is to use them on long range or stealthy killing purpose.

Break down of gun's efficiency at different situation

Point blank: shotguns > M249/RPK > PKM = MG36
5 meters: PKM = MG36 > M249 > Ak47 > F2000
25 meters: F2000 > Ak47/101 > MG36 > PKM > g36C
50 meters: G36C = G36E = L85 > F2000 > Ak > MG36 > PKM
100 meters: G36C = sniper rifle > L85 > AK >> all else.

I guess that this is generally true, but there is a lot of room for movement in your scale depending on the player.

I for example think that both AKs are more accurate than the F2000 at long range. This is probably due to the rate of fire I use, but I can't hit crap with the F2000 or the L85 at anything more than medium range, but I can outsnipe most snipers with all the standard assault rifles. I never use the G3 so I don't know about that.

The G36C works great for me in any situation. At long range it can hit fast and accurate and at close range can autofire headshots pretty easily. I don't use the G36E since I prefer the M16 and AKs as medic.

As for longer range weapons my favorite is probably the M16. I don't go snipe much. I like the semi auto mec and Chinese sniper rifle better than the USA and unlock. I can use either, but I'm not much of a traditional hide and kill sniper. I like the short range capability of the semi auto sniper.

The light machine guns can be accurate at medium range, but at long range they will not hit at all. I remember burst firing 100 rounds at a sniper that was out of sniper amo and a smoke stack and not hitting him at all. As I was reloading I closed the gap by a few yards and registered 3 hits in 3 bursts. Just have to know how to handle the kick. Granted it won't compete with an assault rifle, but it isn't that hard to get a quick hs to a prone target at semi long range with the PKM. Ever since unlocking the PKM I have not used any other light machine gun so my take on light machine guns might be a little tainted.

All the shotguns are short range weapons, but the pump has a slightly longer range.

your G36C or M24 cant touch it

so your 100 meter chart should be
G36C = G36E = sniper rifle > L85 > AK > all else > SCAR.

The M24 IS the most accurate weapon in game, if u couldn't SEE a sniper far away if u had the G36E cause of no scope, the M24 has a 5x scope (10x in RL), also, the G36C is more accurate than the G36E period. Anyways, for me:
point blank: all shottys=nooblauncher (if u don't blow urself up)>LMGs>AK>F2000 and so on
5m: Same as huz
25m: same as huz
50m: G36C=G36E>M16>AK>F2000>MG36
100m: G36C=M24>semi auto sniper>G36E>M16>AK
