    Arty Logic Making Me Mad

There have been a handful of occasions that my arty deployment has missed its mark ('shot over') more then 80% of the round when the other commander is nailing people left and right. I can't account for this but it's frustrating.
I was put over the edge yesterday on Ghost Town when one my shells landed right next to a Bradley causing it to slide 2 yards but no visible damage was dealt.

What gives? Am I missing something? Does experience account for accuracy? Anyone have similar experiences? I have the veteran commander badge so I’ve got the seat time…

    Thoughts?

on some servers I've been on the arty is off by at least 3 to 5 inches on the map when you drop it, literally it does not go where you tell it to, that includes uav, and supply drops also

Are you positive on that? I would think it inflicts some damage since it slid 2 yards (scale).

Zatar Wetlands map is notorious for not putting stuff where you click. As commander, I usually issue an order to a squad before using arty to see how far off the spot is.

I find that if you zoom in fully then the arty normally works fine but it's almost always out if I don't zoom in first.

You have to compensate for the wind and weather effects...

I'm kidding of course...(although maybe it is) I've noticed this on some maps and you just have to figure out the sweet spot to counterbalance the effect...

For example...on Gulf of Oman...if you're going to dump arty on the carrier...(shame on me, I know) and specifically aim for the fixed AA weapon on the tail...if you put the arty target right on the AA, you'll miss everytime...but there is a gray spot on the deck of the carrier about where the plane is...if you put it there you'll hit it everytime...also, if you put it right on the deck about where the helo's spawn...it will overshoot and land in the drink...so you have to put the target to the edge (to the right of) the carrier to get it to land on the deck.

Just takes practice on learning how it works with each map.

When you fire artillery on a map that is screwed up like this, then you have to remember how far off your first shot was so that you can compensate for the bad aim during your next barrage.
If your first artillery mission missed your target, and fell too far to the right, then aim further to the left of your target.

It happens to me on Dalian, but to stop this, I just zoom in one level.

I always zoom in before an arty strike. I can't believe anyone would do it any other way.

That carrier issue mentioned above is a glitch and now that you posted it, I seem to recall some official statement from the devs that said some maps are 'off' when it comes to arty.
Still an issue that the Bradely didn't blow when it was pushed so far away from the blast. I think that's the real issue...
