Thay will add a minimum distance for the GL, so if you shoot on the floor 1 meter away, it will bounce.:)

Plus, you can't fire it while jumping

Just got SF. runs ok, ? and i've got a cheap graphics card. radeon X600!!!
Always enough servers. Players tend to be better , than in original!!
I struggled like buggery at first (with new bits ,especially the dark).

I think the performance issues is what's keeping most people away from playing. Hopefully the 1.2 patch will rectify the situation, so we can see as many SF-players as there was right after the release!

I agree, I hardly ever play because of the performance issues. Even on local servers, the lag is just appalling - it makes the game unplayable. Strange considering there is no problem with vanill BF2 at the same settings.

I love SF and have found some regular servers where I ping under 50 and the admins are cool. I was getting some weird lag issues but they seem to ahve resolved themselves rather quickly.

I used to play quite a bit, but my fps drops suddenly too often. SF uses more shaders than vanilla and it loads down my machine too much. I like a few of the maps and some of the features and I'd play it more if I could keep my frames up.

My only real beef with SF is Iron Gator. That map blows large donkey weenie.

My biggest problem is really bad lag, especially on the night maps. On the other hand, my biggest pleasure comes from flying the choppers. Espcially on Mass destruction as the rebels. I feel like it actually takes skill to not impale myself on the numerous pointy trees.

Somehow, the choppers in SF feel more smooth, plus the missles have larger splash damage.

The bes chopper situation is being US Seals on Iron Gator with the MEC having only the Flight Deck and their main base. You can absolutley RAPE the main deck of the MEC. I got five different awards in one map just doing that and getting like 56 kills.

I will admit that on that map, flying the chopper and racking up kills takes NO skill at all unless you are takning a full speed run at an enemy AA

I still play SF. No airplanes is a big bonus. The grappling hook is great fun. I like the fast moving ATV's. The RPG rocks! In the next patch there will be no more C4 chucking and 1 meter 203 shots so it's gonna be even better. Can't wait to try out the new sniper!

yer i play it on occasion, when vanilla maps get a little old i switch to SF for a change of scenery and after a while switch back to vanilla
