    Repair Points

Alright guys....I have been trying to improve the amount of repair points that I receive per round. What I would like to know is what do the experts of battlefield to to rack up major repair points every round?!

I have tried following people around in tanks for hours as an engineer...
I have tried repairing atry/uav's and sattelites all day
I have even done some blackhawk whoring, but thats the worst way to get repair points.

There has to be an easier way. What would that be?

    Re: Repair Points

I got my veteran Eng/Repair badge (http://bf2s.com/player/43593204/) while playing on Wake.

I did a little of everything in the round. I created a "Repair" squad and let know the rest of the team (K Key chat message) as well as my commander (voice comm) that I'll be available to anybody with a missing bolt or a scrapped paint. Since the USMC spent time blowing up the arty, I had a lot to do but I had to be wary of SpecOps troopers waiting for me. That's why I mostly travelled in a jeep or buggy and first liberally sprinkled the area around the arty or asset to repair with bullets for some seconds before I would head in for repairs.

So as not to be too vulnerable to infantry while repairing I liked to get in a jeep, drive to the asset/vehicle to repair and switch to .50 cal turret MG to protect myselft. Being an engineer in a vehicle I would repair all surroundind damaged assets/vehicle.

Once your buddies and commander realize there's a crazy mechanics on their side, they will tend to request your skills pretty often. At one point my Cder even refrained from dropping a supply crate on arty because I was near it. At least that's how I interpret his dropping a crate at a nearby assaulted flag to help troopers there rather than repair his favorite killing toys. It got me some nice repair point in the process and I thank him for that.

Another way would be playing a map with no planes and you create a Repair squad with a fellow Eng and you drive side by side in Tanks/APC sticking close together to repair each other and cover your sides against C4 chuckers. This can bag you a whole lot of Repair & kill points.

      Good tip from above ..

Also try to find rounds that last long...

      Ie.

--Server without timelimit, 64 player maps, and "few" players (20 imo)...

                Re: Repair Points

Was just kiddin. If he was repairing the commanders assets while a friend was c4ing them constantly he would have been stat padding. If he got it by just playing the game as it is supposed it is a great achievement.
I play engineer almost all the time and 25 repair points is close to impossible, certainly in one hour. He must have been doing nothing but repair. Thing is you need someone to blow things up to make you able to repair it.
25 repair points only from driving around and rapairing people, all in one hour? Hard to believe.

                  Re: Repair Points

repair everything, and I mean everything .

                  -Commander assets for starting
-repair every vehicle of your team while there is a teammate in it .
-look out for teammates in humvee or vodnik, those repair very fast and give you very fast points, also they are almost always damaged (get damaged very fast) .
                  - also repair TOW's and stuff ,they repair very fast and give points very fast, you do only get points when someone is on the TOW .
                  - and, I am not kidding here, when you see a suplie box of your team, repair it, when there was some action around the box, it gets damaged and you can repair those things .
                  - drive along in APC's , when they start getting shot at (push F10 so you have outside view) , when you find the coast is clear, get out and repair those suckers

i have tried for the life of me to get my vet repair badge. its got to be one of the hardest ones to get. i tried going into a 64 player server with hardly anyone in it and still only managed to get 4 repair points. seems like everthing is not damaged enough or get blow up entirely.

I got my Veteran Repair badge on Iron Gate in SF.
The tactic I used was to simply stand close to the mounted AA guns on the ship, repairing them. There are always A-T infantry firing at it from land, and the APC also loves to take out the AA. Position yourself next to the rocket pod, not the turret (too dangerous) - and you're good to go :)

Near the end of the game I was missing one point, and MEC had taken over both the Flight Deck and the Bridge - so there were no-one damaging the AA anymore. As I was cursing myself and the game for only missing one point, I noticed that the UAV trailer was blown up. I repaired it, and sure enough I got the badge :)

I like you, you are funny

I'm not even going to try to get veteran repair until they fix the repair cycle in a patch or something.

                          Re: Repair Points

Get yourself in an FAV and haul ass around to everyone on the battlefield for repair pts. Keep moving between all the armor and commander assets.

If you are lucky enough to get on the opposite team of a spec op hungry team - you will win out.

Also - do like you did - create a squad called engineer - and tell your commander to direct you when his stuff goes down. When it does go down - get the assets up as quick as you can. As soon as they come to life - go to the next - so your commander has use of them. Then go back and repair them to full.

Also - don't forget to repair stingers and mounted guns when they get hurt. Make sure a teammate is using them when you repair them - otherwise it is pointless to repair - same goes for vehicles. Repairing unmanned vehicles gives you nothing.

You can also team up with a friend that needs driver pts that goes support. Sit in the back F3 or F4 of a hummer - and tell him to drive like a maniac. Keep on repairing him, and have him drive up to the armor. Then they are getting repairs and supplies. Or go with 2 engineers and everything will repair faster - which will help the team more - but splits your repair pts. Give and take on that one. You can almost get more pts - because you get stuff to full faster and take less chance of being a target while repairing.

I'm with you on this one - 25 repair points in one round is near unbelievable. It sorta falls into the same catagory as the knife badges for me, not really worth pursuing, cause it just ain't gonna happen as I only have an hour or so a night to play and will never be that good. Engineer is my second favorite kit, and I would play it a lot more if you could get any points doing it. You have to turn that wrench forever for a point, which seems unreasonable considering you can spam med kits and ammo all over the map. There is nothing more frustrating than haulin a$$ all over the map trying to be a good team player and finishing a 45 minute round with 6 points. The jackhammer is fun though, in the right situation.....
