hey guys,

how do you know if you mic is working?
i've just hooked up my mic and i dunno if its working.

i've tried asking people, but no one responds,

the little speaker symbol that comes up when you press b is green and as i talk it's goes red. is that how i know it's working? i can't hear myself through the head phones though..

There's a test button in the options.
If it's red, you should reduce the mic volume, or shout less.

If it goes red it means that its over-volumed or is breaking up. The only way to really tell is to test it on a server that has VOIP working properly and has people who will actually talk back.

I suggest you re-adjust it so when you talk it doesn't go into the red or simply move the mic further away from your mouth.

Try ours out VOIP works and people actually use it, then you will know for sure.

We are currently running SF, though it switches between vanilla and SF usually every 2 days.
