How do you join by IP?

OK... say i have an ip adress like the ones for the mappacks... how do i connect to that ip, iv tried the connect to ip thing but it never works? can anyone help?

well the ip should be something.something.something.something: port

go to connect to IP, type in everything BUT the port, and unless the port is different than the one already in place, just hit connect. if it does not work than it is the IPs fault not yours.

I typed in the IP and it said that I had an older version then the IP and I just downloading Map 1-3 and tried to join one of Maps on pack 3. Can anyone help?

Probally not, I just bought a month ago. Can I download it from this forum. I could not see a patch expect the teaser to download. Thanks for the prompt reply.

look on the front page of totalbf2 for the "1.12" patch download and install it, and then your good. OR, battlefield2.filefront.com. you can find it many places just make sure its 1.12.
