Request for knife help

I've been having trouble getting kills with the knife. It's not even because I can't sneak up on anyone, it just that I think I press the button too early and server lag prevents me from killing on first hit.

I sneak up behind a guy, press attack and am rewarded by a puff of smoke, which does nothing. The guy turns around and blows me away.

Do you guys have an tips on how to make that one hit count?

It is the lag or the crappy collision detection in the game. Nothing you can do about it except try to make it seem like that first knife is forced in there. Not a casual knifing, if you follow. Also, you may want to knife the parts of the body with wider hit box, i.e. torso. So aim for the torso, might help.

personally, i pretty much is just shock paddle and knife people.

if you following someone......to catch up to them you need to jump and run and jump.....pretty much bunny hopping.....it makes you run faster. once you try to knife him, if you miss it won't matter they won't notice. aim for the head

infront of you shooting at you...... jump in the air and then lay down, aim for the legs


see guy laying down...........pretty much the easiest knife kill in the game.....anyone that is in the prone or laying down position, it pretty much screams at me saying PLEASE KNIFE OR SHOCK PADDLE ME!!!!

i tried to knife a guy on sharqi last night, took 6 swings and got 6 metallic clanging sounds, you all know and love it :p. Then he turns around and kills me, do those langers Dice ever intend to fix any issues with the game.

Don't just run up and knife when you think you're close enough, litterally run up until you run INTO them, and cant run anymore, Then knife directly into the body. If they're prone, dont knife standing up or you wont even touch them, its not like the shock paddles, you must either crouch or go prone as well.

I've never had problems knifing, its always been one hit one kill nomatter where. I just aim for the body, it doesnt matter where you hit.

i kinda don't believe it.....i have a knifed a lot of people and sometimes when i knife someone u see the dust fly from there body but they are still alive, i have to knife a few people like 2 to 3 times just for them to die....hopefully this patch will fix it, as well as the double c4 glitch

Well, in my own experiences, I have never, ever, ever had a problem knifing. Not that I have amazing ping, internet or connection, I'm constantly lagging out, but it just really isn't hard or buggy like you guys make it.

Just make sure you are actually within knifing range, crouching/prone, and right up to their body. Just go for the stomach/back as it's the biggest target. It's always been a one hit one kill nomatter where I placed it.

actually, i think it is the other way around. You can be too close. if you find that you are knifing for nothing more than the poof of smoke, try backing off you target by just a hair. Its something you have to get a feel for.

There might be something more to it thatn that too.. maybe all hitboxes dont register knife hits or sthing. Many times i've stabbed a guys leg when he lays inside a building so close to the wall that his leg/foot comes through the wall. It usually works but then again i once stabbed a guy around 10 times in the tip of his shoe and he just wouldnt die. I know i didnt hit the wall.

Well he was moving around prone to crouching looking over sandbags etc. Totall oblivious, I was lying on top of him and right next to him when standing, so it may have been too close.

Wow. I've never had a problem sneaking up on someone and knifing them. If someone is in the prone then I jump prone with knife and he is dead. One guy got me, but I was not sneaking, just close range and he got me because of the bunny hop.

I had that today, i sneaked behind a prone sniper & knifed him 2x lol he turned around & shot me
