    APC vs. APC

I have always had problems facing another APC while I'm in one. I always seem to lose the fight. When I encounter another APC I will usually shoot my gun while lining up the shot for the missile. I will usually hit with the missile. Then my gun overheats and there I am a sitting duck.

I was wondering if you all could over some tips on how to win in an APC vs. APC encounter. Thanks!

i usually shoot my missle and use guns but stay constantly moving and hiding behind cover so i am harder to hit

First off, use surprise. Whoever starts firing (without missing the TOW missile) usually wins.
Secondly, NEVER let your cannon overheat. Rather take a short break between shots.
Thirdly, don't fire the TOW right off, make sure you score a hit.
Lastly, MOVE! If you move, you are usually at the advantage that you can predict your own motion and therefore where to aim. The enemy, who initially will not know if/where you will move, will miss a few shots, which can be vital.

The first one to start shooting usually wins.
if you use the missile, you'll blow him up before the gun overheats..unless you have bad aim and miss alot

Play AT, fire a rocket, jump out, fire you AT rocket, and then back in for cover and finish him off (if somehow he survives) with the gun.

i would only use it if i knew i was gonna blow before him. or u can risk being hit by his fire

I think I read some posts on where you target, I am not sure with APCs but in tanks you can take each other out with 2 shots aiming at the tracks. Someone left a post with pictures and points for each shot, there was a huge difference to the damage made depending where you hit.

True you could, but you always exit left of the turret, so face the vehicle so it offers cover, go prone (might be harder with new patch), fire from underneath, look up and press E so you get back in quick. This will 99% of the time win. I got kicked from a server for it because they thought I was hacking. I guess knowing how to play is a hack.

                  I've got something for ya.

Notice the gas tank? Try to aim for that, or the very front or very back. I'm pretty sure the APC's missile is a TOW. Should make a huge difference on who comes out alive.

Aim for the tires (front and back of the wheel), it does more damage.

Despite what your link says, it almost always works for me.

I love people who do that, they leave me a half damaged apc to repair and give to one of my passengers -> our strike capacity has just been doubled.
I don't think I've EVER seen that work out, myself.
Not to say I think it's impossible, of course.

It's possible. I know aiming for the treads on a tank makes a huge difference.

                              Re: APC vs. APC

The link proves nothing, other than that an LAV has no weak points vs. rockets or TOW missiles. Aim for whatever part of the thing you can hit. I think if you aim for the top of the tyres with either the APC cannon (not the rocket, but the cannon) or a tank round you can get lucky with ricochets and sometimes get a double hit and do more damage, but otherwise there is no weak point on an APC. It's basically just a staying contest. Whoever starts firing first wins, unless one person misses with the missile and the other doesn't.
